Organic Fertilization Program
We can substitute organic fertilizer in each of the basic applications described above. Also, we will apply weed control as requested or not at all. There is an additional fee for the organic program.
Pest and Soil Program
Your turf is under constant attack by natural elements. No one can not control the amount of rainfall or pest population completely. To address these conditions, we recommend all of these supplemental applications to enhance the overall health and beauty of your lawn. However; each application can be added individually or on an as needed basis to the fertilization program.
Pest and Soil Applications:

Early Spring Application
Our specially blended fertilizer promotes early spring green-up, recovery from winter stresses and protects the lawn from common spring diseases. We also apply a pre-emergent material that protects the lawn against unsightly infestation of crabgrass, foxtail and other annual grasses that arise later in season.
Spring Application
Our fertilizer helps the grass plant conserve energy prior to the onset of the hot summer season. Also, a broadleaf weed control is applied to weeds such as dandelions, plantain, thistle, and clover.
Summer Application
Maintaining density and heartiness of your lawn through the hot summer months is the goal of your third application. The special plant food improves summer heat and drought tolerance. We also check your lawn for problems and apply broadleaf weed control to any weeds.
Fall Application
Cooler temperatures and rain speed up plant growth and improve density. This is a perfect time to apply a granular, slow release fertilizer to build new roots, shoots, tillers and grass plants. Again, we check your lawn for broadleaf weeds and treat them as necessary
Late Fall Application
Although there is minimal leaf growth in winter, the root system of your lawn remains active. This late fall lawn feeding replenishes the food reserves depleted during spring and summer. This application supplies energy for winter survival. The extra energy is stored to be used next season in stimulating leaf growth. Your lawn will stay greener longer this fall and green up earlier next spring.
Preventative Grub Treatment
White Grubs are one of the most difficult pests to manage. They are found in the soil below the thatch layer and feed on the roots of the grass plant. To prevent grubs from ruining your lawn, is to stop them before they invade. Our properly timed treatment protects your lawn throughout the entire growing season.
Surface Insect Control
Chinch Bugs and Sod Web Worms are the most common surface insects in our area. As lawns dry out in the summer, insects multiply causing damage. Often this damage can be mistaken for drought damage. Left untreated these pests can destroy an entire lawn in a very short period of time. Our Surface Insect Control treatment will stop turf damage as well as control the pest population.
Core Aeration
Over time your soil naturally compacts, leaving the subsoil undesirable for healthy lawn growth. Core aeration creates 2-3 inch deep, finger size holes into the soil to improve the air, water and nutrient exchange with your roots. The “plugs” of turf pulled out during this process naturally fertilize your lawn.
Overseeding
Our professional grass seed, spread over the top of your yard, is a great way to thicken up a thin lawn or to introduce better grass types to an established lawn.
Fungicide Treatment
Deadly diseases have many different causes. Our preventative and curative fungicides are applied as required to control many varieties of fungal diseases.
Tree and Shrub Fertilization
Most chicagoland suburban soils do not have enough nutrients to support healthy tree and shrub growth. Proper fertilization results in more vigorous growth, a greener, healthier appearance and better flowering.
